This Fortune's Weave characters page is the cast directory for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (Intelligent Systems / Nintendo) on Nintendo Switch 2 (exclusive). It maps the four Heroic Games heroes, the Eshmel avatar thread, and publicly named companions — without inventing growth rates, romance pairings, or a fake full roster spreadsheet. Are Fortune’s Weave characters heroes, avatar, or companions?

Player search for Fortune's Weave characters usually means “everyone on the box art.” In systems language, Intelligent Systems splits the cast into three buckets: the four Heroic Games heroes you can start immediately, the Eshmel avatar thread that rewrites their fates later, and the named allies / rivals who flavor each route.

Why the split matters for wiki readers

If you treat Eshmel as a fifth day-one hero, you will skip the Heroic Games loop that the Direct actually teaches. If you treat companion names as confirmed romance options, you will waste Free Time Turns chasing rumor spreadsheets.

The portrait cards in the next section are the playable + avatar faces. Companion tables live lower on this page and on routes.

How this differs from Three Houses cast pages

Fortune’s Weave shares Fódlan-adjacent faces and Sothis / Fortuna divine framing, but the playable cast is built around Heroic Games entrants in Dagsion, not a monastery house pick. Dietrich’s Fódlan origin is story flavor — the wiki still treats the four heroes as parallel Dagda routes with per-hero saves.

When old Fire Emblem muscle memory says “check the support log for every portrait,” redirect that habit to romance for confirmed inn / dining systems — not to this roster table.

Who are the playable Fortune’s Weave characters?

These five Fortune's Weave characters are the faces Nintendo publishes for the Heroic Games campaign plus the avatar mandate. Tap a card for the deep entity page — Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda each have a dedicated write-up; Eshmel covers the avatar thread.

Portrait source and CDN policy

Card art uses official Nintendo store character renders mirrored to our CDN — the same policy as table portraits on routes and combat guide. If a future hero entity page ships without a reliable portrait, the card degrades to text rather than a placeholder or hotlinked Fandom render.

That keeps the Fortune's Weave characters directory honest: every face you see is a confirmed public asset, not AI fan art.

What does each hero bring to the cast?

Use this section when a portrait card is not enough context. Combat tags stay at marketing level — Might / Hit / growth tables are TBA. Faction companions are named here so you know who travels with each hero without opening four separate pages pre-launch.

Cai — village rescue and flyer fantasy

Cai is the kindhearted Ribeira boy entering the Heroic Games to free his imprisoned father Castor. Public footage ties him to Ornius Rider mobility and spear lines, with a wide-area flame Blaze Art as the marketing hook. Full write-up: Cai.

Community digests sometimes label his story entry as Fox Obelisk — treat that as a digest tag, not as proof the other heroes lack gates. Childhood friends Tialla, Peter, and temple priest Ultand travel with Ribeira Winds in public materials.

Dietrich — Fódlan sword drama without a house remake

Dietrich is the elegant swordsman who washes ashore from Fódlan hunting a stronger opponent. He carries Answerer Relic sword vibes and a teleport-style Blaze Art in previews — exact English skill labels may shift at localization. Full write-up: Dietrich.

He is not a Three Houses house route re-skin: Dagda’s Heroic Games frame the story. Fabio, Esmeralda, and veteran Mikaela are the public House Lamine companions.

Theodora — queen of Saramis and army command

Theodora fights as queen of Saramis, seeking strength to restore her goddess’s honor and protect her people. Previews show Gambits and Mahadu’s Spear (localization may vary) with an earthen Blaze Art fantasy. Full write-up: Theodora.

Retainers Bonaventure, Tobias, Lysander, and Lilian appear in Megaira’s Beacon materials. Rival Creek (Arago Twin Jewels) also pressures her war framing across routes.

Leda — musician’s revenge and support tools

Leda enters the Games as a musician hunting Bertrand for her father’s murder. Public kits emphasize sword / bow / vihuela flexibility, ally buffs, and song-style Blaze options — individual song names vary between digests, so do not lock fake skill titles here. Full write-up: Leda.

Rose Tempest companions Buccar, Scirocco, Mu, and rival priestess Olympia seed the revenge crew. Supports and dining still live on romance, not on this cast directory.

Eshmel — not a substitute hero pick

Eshmel is the customizable Herald of the Pale Raven — the story’s true protagonist who rewrites the four heroes’ fates with Fortuna travel and the featured Nameless lance tools (English weapon name may vary).

Start on one of the four heroes first; open Eshmel when the avatar mandate, customization, or Pale Raven form matters — not as minute-one roster filler.

Where do route companions fit on this page?

Companion names answer “who travels with this hero?” They are not a romance options list, a recruitment checklist with dates, or proof of exclusive supports. Windows, missable flags, and bond ranks stay TBA until launch builds show them on-screen.

Cross-route rivals are characters too — with limits

Nathan and Creek (the “Arago Twin Jewels”) show up as Heroic Games rivals across stories. They matter for route pressure and endgame framing, but they are not listed as a fifth playable hero on this page.

If you need bond mechanics, open romance for confirmed dining / inn supports versus TBA romance endings.

Recruitment is not the same as “on the roster sheet”

Dagsion lets you recruit warriors through gifts, meals, and relationship interaction — any separate fame gate is still TBA. A companion name appearing in Nintendo copy does not automatically mean they join in chapter three on every route.

Treat the companion table as cast seeds for story expectations. Exact join windows belong on a future recruitment page after launch, not on this pre-launch directory.

What about Seteth and cross-route faces?

Not every Fortune's Weave characters search is about the four heroes. Marketing materials also tease legacy-adjacent figures and divine mandates without shipping full bios pre-launch.

Hero entity pages are live

Search already splits intent across Cai, Leda, Dietrich, Theodora, and Seteth. Open Cai, Leda, Dietrich, or Theodora for dedicated write-ups — same pattern as Eshmel. Seteth stays TBA until in-game role is verified.

The hero cards above plus each entity page keep growth rates and support ranks honest: no invented base classes, no fake romance matrices.

Wiki search when you already know the name

If you landed here from Google with a specific hero in mind, jump straight from the portrait card or use wiki search across every live guide. This page is optimized for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave characters as a broad cast query — not for minute-one combat math.

Which character page should I read first?

Pre-launch, most players should pick one hero card, play a few Heroic Games loops, then branch. This decision sheet stops you from bouncing between five wiki tabs before you understand the calendar.
